PhD Candidate, Hacettepe University Language Instructor, Ba?kent University email: ozkankirmizi@gmail.com ABSTRACT This name aims at delineating the bonds between utilise philology (AL) and south language acquaintance (SLA) research within a philosophical and theoretic framework. The article initially traces the philosophical and theoretical basis use philology along with the birth of SLA research, and and so draws conjunctions between utilise philology and SLA. To do this in detail, issues that ar inherent in applied philology research ar examined in detail and points of conjunctive are highlighted. It is stated that routine language acquisition is adept of the most important areas of require for applied linguistics. The article likewise handles the relation between applied linguistics and language teaching. Finally, a comparison of applied linguistics and educational linguistics is undertaken. key words: applied linguistics, second language acquisition, language teaching.
